Hallöle…

I am grateful you are here.

This page is dedicated to my current project: a documentary short film about Swabians. An animated documentary short film about the people from the cultural region of South Central Germany.

The film is meant to be a cultural exploration, purely anecdotal and artistic in nature. The delivery is an intentionally nuanced and definitely subjective definition of Swabians.

The film is delivered in a mix of English, German and some Schwäbische Sprüche.

Visually, I worked on a concept to execute the film as an animation, given its inspiring artistic possibilities. The film FLEE is a touching example of the approach I have in mind.

Animation provides a sensible way to illustrate the Swabian story, without compromising on emotional qualities. Especially, since Swabians frequently convey a strong aversion to appear in front of the camera.

For said animation work, I am exited to count with the sensitive and talented illustrator, animator, and director Nicolas Sole; who has worked in projects for Richard Linklater, Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal.

Swabians is a film about identity, belonging, and the remarkable adaptability of the human spirit.

The final length of the film is about 10 minutes.

Vielen Dank!

A few words about me

I have worked for over 20 years behind the camera as a writer and producer for short and long format content in Miami, Florida. I went on to work independently in 2017.

Since then, I produced and directed a short documentary about the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico - “La Perla After Maria”. The short was selected by film festivals around the world, including the HBO - New York Latino Film Festival and the Annual Copenhagen Film Festival; winning the top category in Seattle, finalist in Austin, and earning a prize for cinematography at the European awards.

There are a few scripts for fiction and a couple of concepts for non-fiction formats in my virtual drawer. The flow of ideas coming from my mind is constant and genre agnostic: drama, comedy, documentaries and game shows. Human interest is the main focus of my work.

I was born in Venezuela and lived in the United States for 27 years. I now split time between Germany and the US.
